This is a blog dedicated to the West Town Neighbors of the City of Chicago. We are on a quest to stop a local alderman from stealing away our property rights.
EAST VILLAGE RESIDENTS who live within the boundaries of Ashland to Damen, Division to Chcago Avenue remember the Town Hall meetings the Alderman has planned for May 10, 11 & 12 at the Ukrainian Cultural Center 2247 W. Chicago Avenue 6:30p.m to 8:00 p.m.
Although these meetings were originally planned to have pros and cons about District Landmarking. No one at the West Town Property Owners organization has been asked to participate. It's important you go and speak up, let the Alderman and his people know how you feel about not being given the right to decide about our property rights. The Alderman publicily announced this was an "executive decision" he made to stop the building process under the guisses of preserving our neighborhood. Make sure you really understand the ramifications of "District Landmarking" and what it REALLY means to you and your property rights. Contact WTPO for additional information at www.wtpo@earthlink.net or call 312-409-1794 and leave a message, someone will get back to you promptly. Carol M.
